Where is the Eagles stadium in Philly?
The Philadelphia Eagles are a professional American football team in the National Football League (NFL) based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Together with the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins, they belong to the Eastern Division within the National Football Conference (NFC). Since 2003, the team has played its home games at Lincoln Financial Field, which holds 68,532 spectators.

In 1933, a group of investors led by Bert Bell and Lud Wray was able to purchase an NFL license for $ 2500. The original owners of this license, the Frankford Yellow Jackets, had ceased playing at the end of 1931. They changed their name to the Philadelphia Eagles and, along with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Reds, officially joined the NFL as a new team on July 8, 1933.
In 1943, due to the Second World War, the Eagles were forced to merge with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team performed as the Philadelphia-Pittsburgh Steagles that season. However, this merger lasted only one season; from 1944 the team again played under the old name. At the end of the 1940s, the Eagles were able to achieve the first successes under the leadership of head coach Ealre Neale and running back Steve Van Buren. While they were still defeated by the Chicago Cardinals in 1947, they were able to win the NFL championship in both 1948 and 1949. The Eagles failed to score on both occasions.
The Eagles won their third NFL championship in 1960, and the two current Pro Football Hall of Fame players Norm Van Brocklin and Chuck Bednarik played a significant part in winning the title. The head coach at that time was Buck Shaw.
In 1969, the Eagles were bought out by Leonard Tose for the sum of $ 16,155,000, then a record sum. His first official act was the dismissal of the then coach Joe Kuharich. The new head coach was Jerry Williams. When the NFL and the AFL were merged in 1970, the Eagles were placed in the NFC East. In 1980, the Eagles reached the Super Bowl (Super Bowl XV) for the first time, but narrowly failed to beat the Oakland Raiders.
