Which country is Tegucigalpa in?
Honduras is located approximately in the middle of the Central America bridge between the Caribbean Sea in the east and the Pacific Ocean in the west, to which it has only a narrow access (Fonseca Bay). Neighboring states are Guatemala to the west, El Salvator to the south and Nicaragua to the east. Honduras is almost as big as Greece. Its state capital is Tegucigalpa, located in the central highlands.

Honduras consists of more than 70% of mountain ranges that belong to the cordillera system of America. Several mountain ranges rise to over 2000 m in the east of the country. Between them are plateaus and basins, consisting of volcanic soils and very fertile. The northeast of the country is occupied by a wide plain with moist, partly swampy lowlands, the so-called Mosquitia, on the over 600 km long lagoon-rich Caribbean coast.
