With 95,000 inhabitants, Suva is not only the capital, but also the largest city of the Fiji Islands. The city still breathes the flair of the British Empire, with green parks and beautiful old buildings. The greater Suva area extends in the rainy southeast over a 26 square km peninsula, the tropical Colo-I-Suva rainforest to the directly adjacent city of Nasinu, which was only separated from Suva in the 2000s. A visit is worthwhile for all those who are interested in the multifaceted culture of the South Sea state and want to get a taste of the big city feeling. You should take at least two to three days to take in the fascinating atmosphere of the colonial city and its surroundings.



From the International Airport in Nadi you can reach Suva, for example, with one of the regular express buses. 4 Hours driving time or as a self-driver with a rental car. The smaller Nausori Airport is 30 minutes from Suva. In addition, the city is the destination of numerous guided tours, which, however, often only offer a day trip. In the city itself, buses and numerous, inexpensive taxis are available. However, the vast majority of Suva can be easily explored on foot.
