In what country is Saudi Arabia located?
Saudi Arabia is a state in the Middle East and is located on the Arabian Peninsula, covering most of it. With a size of about 2.2 million square kilometers, the country is six times the size of Germany and four times the size of France.

Saudi Arabia borders Jordan, Iraq and Kuwait to the north, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the southeast. To the southeast are Oman and to the south are Yemen. Saudi Arabia borders the Red Sea to the west and the Persian Gulf to the east. Some islands are also still part of the national territory of the country.

Desert and mountains
Saudi Arabia is characterized by a huge plateau, in the southwest of which the Asir Mountains are located. The highest mountain in Saudi Arabia is the Jabal Sauda with a height of 3133 meters. To the north-west is another large mountain range, which is called the Hijaz.
Both mountains run parallel to the coast of the Red Sea. The land then drops steeply towards the Red Sea. Then a coastal plain 20 to 50 kilometers wide joins it. You can clearly see this on the adjacent map.
