Where in the UK is Preston?
Preston and Recklinghausen have been friends since 1956. Preston is an old town in the county of Lancashire, picturesquely located at a steep height on the River Ribble. Already in 1179 Preston received the town charter from the English King Henry II, soon after the commercial tradition of weaving and textile production from sheep’s wool began there.

The heraldic animal of Preston, a reclining lamb with a cross flag, still provides a visible testimony of this today.
Among the municipal buildings, the Town hall and the Preston Guild Hall stand out, especially the neo-Gothic parish church of St. Walburge’s with its tower almost a hundred meters high.
