Portugal, along with Spain, is located on the Iberian Peninsula. It is separated from the rest of Europe by the Pyrenees Mountains in the southwest of the continent. Portugal occupies only 15 percent in the west of the Iberian Peninsula, while 85 percent belongs to Spain.

One of the mountains is the Serra da Estrela, which with 1993 meters is the highest mountain of the mainland of Portugal, the Torre.
