Which country is Podgorica in?
Podgorica (formerly Titograd) is the largest city of Montenegro and the current capital of the country, as well as the seat of the parliament. The most important administrative, economic and cultural institutions of the Balkan state have their headquarters here.

The city also has a university, some theaters and the Academy of Sciences.
Podgorica is located in the vast plain at the mouth of the Zeta River into the Morača, about 15 km from Lake Skadar (Skadari Lake). The climate here is Mediterranean with hot dry summers and mild winters.
In this cultural center of Montenegro you will find the National Theater, a city theater, as well as some puppet and children’s theaters. Today Podgorcia is a mixture of a small, still preserved old town, some socialist buildings (such as the Hotel Crna Gora) and modern architecture.
The historical predecessor was the ancient Doclea (now called Duklija), remains of which can still be seen today on the walls of the old basilica and the ruins of the Roman city (with spas and sewage system).
The city has some spacious parks (such as šuma Gorica Park and Karađorđev Park) and is crossed by the Morača and Ribnica rivers. You have a beautiful view from Gorica, the North hill. The church of St. George (Sveti Đorđe) can also be found here.
Also worth seeing are the Dvor Petrovica (with park, royal castle, villa, chapel and modern art gallery), the clock Tower (Sahat Kula) on the square “Trg Vojvode Bećir-Bega Osmangića” and the observation tower Toranj na Dajbabskoj Gori.
