What country does Nauru belong to?
Nauru is probably one of the countries you’ve never heard of. Nauru is located in the Pacific Ocean on a coral island, about halfway between Sydney and Honolulu (Hawaii). Nauru is bordered to the west by the Federated States of Micronesia, to the north by the Marshall Islands, to the east by Kiribati and to the south by the Solomon Islands. Nauru is located 53 kilometers south of the equator.

Nauru is a typical atoll that sits on the top of a volcanic cone. It was created by the work of corals, which lasted for thousands of years. The island is only 21 square kilometers in size and you only need a few hours to walk around the islands. By car, this is even done in just half an hour.
The coast stretches over a length of 30 kilometers. However, the water area is about 320,000 square kilometers. From north to south, Nauru stretches for seven kilometers, from west to east – five kilometers. The highest elevation is 61 meters high and is called Command Ridge. Only a few islands in the region have such a “mountain”.
