North of the Zambezi River, which flows into the Indian Ocean in Mozambique, steep and flat coastal sections alternate. South of the Zambezi there are many lagoons, but also dune landscapes and deep bays.
The lowland passes in the direction of the north and west into the highlands. The highest mountain of Mozambique is called Monte Binga, it is 2436 meters high and is located on the border with the neighboring country of Zimbabwe.
