In the northeast of the USA, in the state of North Hampshire, Mount Washington is located. At 1,917 meters, it is the highest mountain in the northeastern United States. It belongs to the White Mountain National Forest, which covers a total of 3,000 square kilometers. From its summit you look out over the imposing Presidential Range (a ridge in the White Mountains). Due to the height of Mount Washington in the flat surrounding area, cold and warm air accumulates here. This makes the summit one of the windiest areas in the world. The mountain includes several levels of elevation. The deciduous forest present in the valley turns into a coniferous forest at the higher elevations.

The ski resort Mount Washington is located in the Comox Valley Regional District (Canada, British Columbia, Vancouver Island). There are 60 km of slopes available for skiing and snowboarding. 9 Lifts transport the guests. The winter sports area is located at an altitude of 1,083 to 1,588 m.
From Courtenay, it takes less than half an hour to drive up to the base station of the Mt. Washington, the only major ski resort on Vancouver Island. In good weather you can look to the Pacific Ocean and see the deep blue sea.
