Massachusetts is a state of the United States of America and part of New England.

The name Massachusetts is derived from the word of the Massachusetts language [mass-aju-s-et] and means “by the big hill” or “by the small, big hill”, more appropriately “by the big hills”. It most likely refers to the Great Blue Hill, a hill in the Blue Hills Reservation State Park, about 15 km southwest of Boston. This name appears for the first time in Captain John Smith’s book A Description of New England (1616). Massachusetts is an American state and is located in the eastern part of the United States. The state is also called the Bay State, named after Massachusetts Bay. This is the gateway to the Atlantic Ocean. The largest city and also the capital is Boston. Massachusetts has a population of about 6,349,000, of which about 695,000 live in Boston. To the east, the landscape is quite flat, while to the west the Berkshire Mountains form a stunning landscape.
Massachusetts is one of the smaller states in America, but you will be surprised at how much the state has to offer.
