Long Beach is located on California’s Pacific coast, between Los Angeles and San Diego. It is still located in the greater Los Angeles area, about half an hour by car from Los Angeles.
Long Beach is located south of Los Angeles, right on the Pacific coast. Just west of Long Beach is Anaheim with the famous Disneyland Resort.

If you don’t want to spend a holiday in California in the tourist strongholds, you can go to Long Beach. Translated, the place name means “Long beach”. The international port city on the Pacific coast is diverse. It offers many sights and opportunities for numerous activities.
Long Beach is not far from Los Angeles and could therefore be considered a southern district. However, it is a separate city. Long Beach is home to the second largest port in the United States and the tenth largest port in the world.
If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles without being too far away at the same time, Long Beach would be a real alternative for you. Admittedly, no city in California arrives so quickly against Los Angeles; at least when it comes to the level of awareness. San Francisco can still compete in this area. But otherwise, Hollywood and the celebrities of the dream factories seem to outshine everything else that can be seen in interesting places.
Long Beach is administratively an independent city. Geographically, however, the boundaries are blurring in a large area that is still developing dynamically. So Long Beach could almost pass as the southernmost district of L.A. The location directly on the Pacific Ocean results from the fact that the second largest port in the USA is located here – and after all, the tenth largest in the world. Goods worth almost a hundred billion dollars are handled here year after year. If you like ships, if you are interested in state-of-the-art container technology, you are more than right here.
But even if both are not true, you should at least go to the harbor in the evening during a stay in Long Beach. Then such a colorful, huge sea of lights unfolds there that some a skyline could hide behind it in terms of attractiveness.
