Ljubljana is the vibrant capital of Slovenia and at the same time the largest city in the country. It is the political, economic and cultural center of Slovenia and is located on the edge of the Ljubljanica basin on the Ljubljanica (Ljubljana). This city is full of interesting sights, such as the Three Bridges, St. Nicholas Cathedral and the famous old Ljubljana Castle.

Many of these architectural monuments were planned by the architect Joze Plecnik (1872-1957). You want to experience something else? Why not visit the lively fruit and vegetable market? Or stroll through the old town and have a coffee in one of the numerous cafes by the river. It is also worth visiting the collection of the National Gallery. In 2016, Ljubljana was the “Green Capital of Europe 2016”. This award was given to her by the European Commission thanks to the environmental awareness of the city. In the city center there are many green areas that invite you to linger – such as the city park Tivoli. And also the banks along the river are planted with many trees. There are also four protected landscape areas in the immediate vicinity of the city. And anyone who ever hears the name “Ljubljana” knows that this city is Ljubljana.
