Where is Lesotho Located

Lesotho is a small country in the south of Africa. It is about the same size as Belgium. The special thing about Lesotho is that South Africa completely encloses the state. It is therefore an enclave and at the same time a landlocked state, i.e. a state that does not border on any sea. Although the country is completely surrounded by South Africa, it has never been part of it politically.

Which country is Lesotho in?

Lesotho is a monarchy and at the same time the only country on Earth whose entire national territory is more than 1,000 meters above sea level. Therefore, it has the epithet “Kingdom in heaven”. Through the plateaus stretch the mountain ranges of the Drakensberg, which look like the teeth of a sleeping dragon. Perhaps this is the reason why people here tell each other miraculous stories about dragons. In fact, dragon-like dinosaurs roamed the country in the early days. The Kingdom of Lesotho is located on the inland highlands of South Africa. As you can see on the map above, Lesotho is completely surrounded by South Africa, so the country is considered an enclave.
