To the south, the borough of Islington borders directly on the City of London. In 1965, Islington was created from the previous boroughs of Islington and Finsbury. About 191,000 inhabitants, who come from all continents, live on an area of almost 15 square kilometers. About 75 percent of the residents are white.

Islington: typically British
Islington is located outside the classic areas that are visited by tourists. And that’s exactly why a trip to Islington is worthwhile during your stay in London. Because here visitors experience the typical and unvarnished London with its very special charm. Because nowhere else in London do rich and poor live so close to each other as in Islington. That is why this district shines with a colorful diversity, which is explained by the different countries of origin and cultures from which the inhabitants come.
