The town of Helsingborg is not particularly large with just under 115,000 inhabitants, but it has enormous significance for Sweden. The city is, in a sense, the gateway to the continent. The port of Helsingborg is considered the second largest in the country.
Every twenty minutes a ferry leaves for Helsingør in Denmark. From Helsingør it takes two hours by car to Rødby or Gedser, from where the ferries go to the continent.
