The city has about 522,000 inhabitants and is well suited for a stopover on a round trip through California. A popular destination for a stopover is the town for all those who want to go to Yosemite National Park or Sequoia National Park.
The city has a number of attractions. Hotels and restaurants are also not neglected. Not to be forgotten is the annual Woodward Shakespeare Festival, which takes place in Woodward Park.

Which part of California is Fresno?
Off the beaten track of California, Fresno is an “authentic” stage on the way to the parks of Yosemite or Kings Canyon and Sequoia.
My tip:
Don’t miss the underground gardens of the Baldassare Forestiere, a mysterious and fascinating treasure in Fresno. It is one of the only naturally fresh places of the hot valley in Central California.
My opinion
Fresno is not necessarily a tourist destination now, but all those who want to get off the beaten track and discover the “real” California, maybe even the real America, will get their money’s worth here. Located halfway between two of the most beautiful national parks in the USA, Yosemite and Sequoia Kings Canyon, Fresno has the potential to be a stage destination on an authentic road trip through California. Avoid the city center, where, if you are lucky, you will meet government employees, if you are less lucky, you will create something shady. The only reason to go there is the local brewery of Tioga-Sequoia, which certainly brews the best beers of California (but this is my personal opinion, you decide for yourself).
Fresh fruits and vegetables, viticulture and groves full of nut trees. Fresno, in the heart of San Joaquin Valley, is the largest city in the Central Valley and is best known for its diverse agriculture. In spring, when the fruit and nut trees are in full bloom, you should not miss the hundred kilometer long “Blossom Trail”, which in summer is again called “Fresno County Fruit Trail”. At this time of the trip, the dreamlike avenue turns into an endlessly long fruit stand with seasonal fruits from local cultivation. At the same time, Fresno is a perfect starting point for a visit to Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon or as a stopover on the way to Yosemite National Park.
