Dongguan is an industrial city in Guangdong Province in the south of the People’s Republic of China. After Shenzhen, Shanghai and Suzhou, Dongguan is the city with the most exports in China. Companies from Hong Kong in particular have their production facilities located in Dongguan, but companies from Europe and the USA also have production plants here.


The world’s largest shopping mall, the South China Mall, is located in Dongguan, but has had little success since its completion in 2005 and continues to struggle for tenants.
