What country does Costa Rica belong to?
Costa Rica is located in Central America. In the north it borders with Nicaragua, in the south with Panama. In the east, the country is located on the Caribbean Sea, which belongs to the Atlantic Ocean. In the west it is located on the Pacific Ocean. While the widest parts of the land bridge between North and South America are located in Honduras and Nicaragua, the narrower part begins in Costa Rica.
In the middle of the country, four mountain ranges (cordilleras) extend in a northwest-southeast direction: the Cordillera de Guanacaste and the Cordillera de Tilarán in the north, the Cordillera Central in the center and from there the Cordillera de Talamanca south to Panama. The highest mountain in the country, the Cerro Chirripó with an altitude of 3820 meters, is also located here. You can see both seas from here, the Atlantic and the Pacific.
