The state of Colorado is located in the middle of the USA and is also called the gateway to the Rocky Mountains. Eastern Colorado is flat with many meadows. The center, on the other hand, has high, snow-capped mountain peaks.

Denver is by far the largest city in Colorado. Including the suburbs, almost half of the population lives in this city. This makes Colorado an excellent place for lovers of large nature reserves and tranquility.

The state got its name from the Colorado River, which was so named by the former Spanish rulers of the area because of the reddish (Spanish: colorado) mud that it carries with it.
