Birkirkara is the largest city in Malta with almost 22,000 inhabitants. It consists of the local parishes of St. Helen, St. Joseph, St. Mary and Our Lady of the Carmel.


Birkirkara is one of the oldest places in Malta and still has an equaduct today. Worth seeing is the imposing church of St. Helena.
The city also has a park, the Old Railway Station Garden.
This is located at the former Birkirkaras railway station, in the 19th century there was a railway line in Malta that ran over the village.
The city is also known for its successful football club, FC Birkirkara plays in the Maltese Premier League and has already been the national champion several times.
