Adana is located in the south of the country, in the south of the Taurus Mountains about 40 kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea. The surrounding Çukurova region, in ancient times part of Cilicia, is very fertile. The Seyhan and Ceyhan Rivers flow through it. Adana is a center of the Turkish textile industry. The railway station is a transport hub of the Baghdad railway, there is an international airport nearby (Adana Airport). NATO’s Incirlik Air Base is located 12 kilometers east of the city center.

The province of Adana is located in the south of Turkey, south of the Taurus Mountains. The province covers an area of 14,256 km2. With (in 2015) 2,183,167 inhabitants, it is the sixth largest province in Turkey. The capital is Adana, important cities are also Ceyhan, Seyhan, Yüreğir and Kozan. The Çukurova region in the south of the province is crossed by the Seyhan and Ceyhan rivers and is very fertile. The capital Adana is a center of the Turkish textile industry and a railway junction. The Incirlik Air Base of NATO is located here.
